HISTORY; PURPOSE:
African Commission of Health and Human Rights Promoters (also known as CAPSDH) the acronym for the organisation's name in French: Commission Africaine des Promoteurs de la Santé et Des Droits de l'Homme, was founded in Brazzaville, Congo in 1989 by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the International Health Professionals (ICHP) as a non-partisan, non-profit, non-sectarian and non-governmental organisation (NGO), advocating for the observance of human rights, the protection of health and the illumination of the two.
ACTIVITIES:
- Free medical treatment for victims of torture and human rights abuses and their families
- Rehabilitation of such victims.
- Assistance to refugees from all parts of Africa with respect to accommodation, food, counseling, clothing and their general welfare.
- Care and assistance to the poor and needy with respect to their health and rehabilitation
