Business matters
In trying to help and protect some of the world's most vulnerable people in so many different places and types of environment, UNHCR must purchase goods and services worldwide. This might range from buying fleets of heavy duty vehicles needed in the most inaccessible parts of the African continent to purchasing needles and thread for a self-help project in Pakistan. UNHCR also hires consultants and specialized companies and their staff for projects. Learn how to do business with us.
UNHCR's Supply Management Service (SMS) comprises the Procurement and Contracts, and Logistics Support and Inventory sections. The service is responsible for global supply chain management, operational support, planning and reporting on the use of resources. This includes the procurement of goods and services to support field operations and headquarters, provision of logistical support to field operations, warehouse, stockpile, fleet and asset management. The service also oversees all supply aspects of the implementation of Management Systems Renewal Project (MSRP) and supports the roll-out to the field, as well as provision of functional (supply chain management) training and support.
