UNHCR Records of the Central Registry

The Central Registry was responsible for the opening and routing of correspondence and for the filing of working papers and official records from 1951 to 1994. These records document the full range of UNHCR activities for nearly a half a century and as such provide an indispensable introduction to the work of the organization.

Subgroup: General Series: Relations with Intergovernmental Organizations Registry Code: 1/5 (Registry, 1951-1970) Dates: 10-1964/04-1975 Extent: 30 cm of textual records Scope: Series documents UNHCR's relations with various intergovernmental organizations (IGO's), including information about each organization and its activities, meetings between UNHCR and the organization, and copies of reports, minutes, and resolutions from official meetings of the organizations. Date Notes: Most of the series is missing. The Registry classification scheme lists many more files than those held by the Archives. Arrangement: Most of this series is missing.
