| Comments | This Handbook for the Protection of Internally Displaced Persons is the result of a collaborative effort involving a large number of colleagues serving in United Nations agencies, international organizations, non-governmental organizations and other humanitarian actors. UNHCR facilitated the process in coordination with the Global Protection Cluster Working Group (PCWG). It provides operational guidance and tools to support effective protection responses in situations of internal displacement. The provisional edition will be field-tested worldwide for a period of one year, and at the end of 2008, the final edition of the Handbook will be issued. Feedback on this Handbook and examples of field practices on protection are welcome at HQIDPHB@unhcr.org. |
