In early June, UNHCR officers visited high school students in Arpajon to help them prepare for an educational event, at which they will simulate asylum appeal sessions. The students will play the roles of the President of the Commission des Recours de Réfugiés (CRR), assessors from UNHCR and l'Office Français de Protection des Réfugiés et Apatrides (OFPRA), lawyers, and refugee–status applicants. The simulation event will take place during the 2003–2004 school year, and by then the students would have had lessons on the world's refugee situation, the journey of an asylum seeker in France and in Europe, and case studies.
