For the third year, WRD activities were held at Yonge-Dundas Square in downtown Toronto. A talented line-up of artists and dancers provided entertainment. The event drew more than 5,000 people, with local and national media present.

Free entertainment in Montreal Place Louis Pasteur showcased visual and performing arts, including music, dance, photography and painting.

Nike soccer balls were handed out as prizes for games and quizzes held at events in both cities. High Commissioner António Guterres's WRD speech was broadcast by several TV channels from coast-to-coast.
