The Procurement Service consists of the Procurement HQ Section and the Procurement Field Section, under which the Supply Policy and Capacity Development Unit, is among other supporting all operations implementing supply activities and is a focal point for all supply related queries. In addition, the unit is responsible for the maintenance of all user guides, support materials and the User Productivity Kit (UPK). The unit also acts as the focal-point for all of the Supply trainings in liaison with the Global Learning Centre (GLC).
At present, the main task of the Support Team is incident resolution. The official channel of incidents is through the Global Service Desk using the LANDesk incident tracking software. The Support Team resolves an average of 125 incidents monthly which also involves corresponding with the field and following-up on resolved incidents via phone calls and e-mail to field users and others to assure implementation and to minimize disruption in system activities.
Furthermore, the support unit is also responsible for reviewing and updating all support materials and end-user tools, e.g. UPKs, FAQs and reference guides. With a significant number of important changes constantly being introduced to our systems, processes and procedures, it is imperative that all reference materials and tools are kept up-to-date. Testing software is also an important part of this unit’s work to resolve incidents and to document changes.
The Supply Associate (Support) will function under direct supervision of the Supply Officer (System Support) in Budapest. The support of MSRP users with supply chain transactions is the central task of the position. She/he is expected to support UNHCR staff with maintaining correct supply chain related data in MSRP and advising them on relevant processes. She/he is required to exercise a very high sense of responsibility, discretion and confidentiality
