1. ADMINISTRATIVE/ FINANCE ASSISTANT

The Admin/Finance Assistant provides clerical assistance to the immediate supervisor and/or Head of the Office to ensure that routine services and activities within the admin/finance domain are properly implemented. Subject to the nature of the task/assignment in hand, he/she will receive regular guidance from his/her supervisor. As per specific instructions, the incumbent may require liaising with other internal or external entities, to ensure effective delivery of services and achievement of objectives. The nature of certain personnel/administrative tasks requires discretion and confidentiality as per UNHCR standards and practices. The incumbent’s workload and the assignments will remain under constant scrutiny and direction of the supervisor.

Starting Date: Preferably 1st August 2018 or as agreed with selected candidate but not later than 1 September 2018

Envisaged Duration: 12 consecutive months from the starting date (with possibility of further extension)

Duty Station: UNHCR Country Office in Malta

2. INTERNSHIP AT UNHCR MALTA OFFICE, PROTECTION UNIT

The main purpose of Internships within UNHCR is to offer candidates an opportunity to gain a hands-on experience linked to their field of study or their career perspective, along with providing a valuable support to the office section.

Internship starting date: 1 June 2018

Internship duration: Six months with possible extension for other two months.

3. Interpreter/translator for Tigrinya speaking (Ad-hoc basis)

Functional Title: interpreter/translator for Tigrinya speaking

Description: Interpreters perform a key part of UNHCR’s work in discharging its core mandate functions, including registration, reception and detention monitoring, as well as counselling. UNHCR is currently developing a roster of suitable candidates to be deployed at need.

UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency in Malta is looking for freelance graphic designers for ad hoc jobs such as producing marketing materials, making changes to existing marketing materials, editorial design and illustration.
