We have placed copies of UNHCR's 2006 Global Report in the press room. This report, which includes a CD-Rom with a wealth of country-specific information, is published annually to inform donors and others of UNHCR's activities and achievements.

It's an excellent reference resource and gives a global overview of UNHCR's work over the previous year. The report contains information on numbers of refugees, asylum-seekers, internally displaced, stateless people and others. It also covers the issues and challenges we faced last year, including displacement emergencies, and gives a region-by-region description of our operations and activities. Headquarters work is also covered. Detailed profiles of our governmental and intergovernmental donors are also provided. You may want to keep this publication near your desk as a reference guide on refugees and UNHCR around the world.
