Greece: Update to Response to Information Request GRC23452.E of 21 June 1996 on the treatment of ethnic Macedonians and Macedonians residing in Greece, and on the state protection available to them

For information on the treatment of Macedonians by the Greek authorities in 1995 and earlier, including recent information on charges against two Macedonians, please consult the attached excerpts from the December 1995 issue of Greek Monitor of Human & Minority Rights.

This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the DIRB within time constraints. This Response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum.
