Hong Kong: Information on nationality, specifically whether a person born in Hong Kong has nationality in Britain and whether Hong Kong and Britain allow dual nationality
According to a consular official at the British High Commission in Ottawa, a person born in Hong Kong does not have nationality in Britain (7 May 1992). She was not certain whether Hong Kong allows dual nationality but she was able to state definitively that Britain allows dual nationality in all cases (Ibid.). The IRBDC is unable to corroborate this information at the present time.
