The suicide attack took place in Kabul
NATO says a suicide bomber killed 13 U.S. troops when he exploded his car next to a NATO convoy travelling through Kabul.
A spokesman for the Afghan Interior Ministry, Siddiq Siddiqui, earlier said that three Afghan civilians and an Afghan police officer were also killed.
A spokesman for the Taliban, Zabiullah Mujahid, said they were responsible for the attack.
Elsewhere on October 29, a female suicide bomber blew herself up outside a local branch of the National Directorate of Security in Asadabad in eastern Kunar Province, wounding two guards.
And two Australian soldiers were killed by an Afghan in army uniform in Kandahar Province.
