| Comments | This paper includes the following recommendations regarding the Council Directive 2003/9/EC of 27 January 2003 laying down minimum standards for the reception of asylum seekers (Reception Directive):
(1) The Reception Directive should be amended to pursue further harmonisation of national reception conditions on the basis of higher standards. (2) The European Commission should act promptly to ensure that EU Member States implement the Reception Directive appropriately. |
