No reports on Movimento de defensa dos interrese dos angolanos partido consciencia nacional (MDIA-PCN) could be found among the sources consulted by the Research Directorate.
However, the MDIA-PCN president, Isidoro Kiala, reportedly died from illness in the fall of 1999. He "was also a member of the Council of the Republic (an advisory body to the head of state)." He was described as a "nationalist" who spent nine years (1965-74) in Sao Nicolau (now Bentiaba) prison, in the province of Namibe (Angola News 9 Oct. 1999).

This Response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum.
