Antigua and Barbuda: Documentation required and procedures to be followed by a parent wishing to travel abroad with a minor child in the absence, or without the consent, of the second parent
In 21 November 2006 correspondence with the Research Directorate, the Consul General at the Consulate General of Antigua and Barbuda in Toronto indicated that
[t]here are no additional requirements of minors who are travelling outside the country with one parent if the parents of [those] minors are married to each other.
For a minor whose parents are unmarried, the accompanying adult needs to have an affidavit from the other (absent) parent, granting permission for the minor to leave the country.
The parents of minors who are travelling unaccompanied must give the assurance that the minors are being met at their destination by an adult relative.
According to an official at the Canadian High Commission in Trinidad and Tobago, citizens of Antigua and Barbuda "do not require a temporary resident visa to enter Canada" (15 Nov. 2006).
