A Website, A Guide to Japanese Visas (http://www.mofa.go.jp/j_info/visit/visa/02.html), contains a section called "Exemption of Visas" where a list of countries that have visa exemption agreements with Japan is provided. The Website states that the visa exemption for Iran is "temporarily suspended".
