Myanmar: Information on the right of citizenship for persons born in Burma in the mid-1960s who left Burma before 1970 without travel documents and since then have not obtained citizenship of any other country
A representative of the embassy of Myanmar indicated that there are two types of travel documents issued by the authorities: certificates of identity and passports (3 Feb. 1994). These are the required documents for Myanmar citizens to leave the country (ibid.). If citizens leave the country without authorized travel documents, they leave the country illegally and, thus, lose their Myanmar citizenship (ibid.).
Please find attached chapter II of the Constitution of Myanmar, which outlines the fundamental rights and duties of citizens.
