Nigeria: Whether Godson Odili & Co., Solicitors & Corporate Consultants, West Circular Road, OPP. N.T.A., Benin City exists; if so, whether the law firm represents members of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB)

The International Centre for Nigerian Law (ICNFL) is a Nigeria-based collaborative organization of law firms that offers "legal services to a world-wide clientele" (ICNFL n.d.). In a 26 November 2007 telephone interview, a representative of the ICNFL said that it is unlikely that a Benin City law firm by the name Godson Odili & Co., Solicitors & Corporate Consultants exists (26 Nov. 2007a).

In follow-up correspondence of the same day, the Representative expressed his doubts that the supposed law firm represents members of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) (ICNFL 26 Nov. 2007b). Concerning the supposed law firm's address, which does not have a street number, the ICNFL Representative indicated that "West Circular is a long road in Benin City and a house there must have a number" (ibid.).

Corroborating information could not be found among the sources consulted by the Research Directorate.

This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the Research Directorate within time constraints.
