In a 10 July 2008 telephone interview, a research assistant in the Department of Guidance and Counselling at Delta State University, Nigeria confirmed that a conference on "cultism" was held at the university in June 2007. However, the Research Assistant did not provide the exact date of the conference nor did he indicate whether there were reports of participants being hurt or threatened following the conference (Delta State University 10 July 2008).
Further or corroborating information on the conference could not be found among the sources consulted by the Research Directorate.
The Research Directorate was unable to obtain a list of the conference's participants among the sources consulted within the time constraints of this Response.
