The following information was obtained in a 30 November 2004 telephone interview with the doctor named in the Information Request after his phone number was given to the Research Directorate by the General Secretariat of the Rwandan Ministry of Health in Kigali.
The doctor confirmed his own identity and that he was indeed a medical doctor employed at the King Faisal Hospital in Kigali. The doctor also indicated that he worked in the gynaecology-obstetrics department of the hospital.
This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the Research Directorate within time constraints. This Response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim for refugee protection.
