Colombia: Copy of page A8 of the 24 July 2000 edition of the newspaper "La Tarde"
For a copy of page 8A of the 24 July 2000 edition of the Pereira-based newspaper La Tarde, please consult the attached document. In correspondence dated 11 October 2004, the Director of La Tarde stated that although the page edges are obscured as a result of the photocopying process, she could certify that the document was the one requested by the Research Directorate.
The Director also noted that no articles pertaining to the killing or persecution (persecución) of homosexuals were published in the newspaper on 24 July 2000.
This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the Research Directorate within time constraints. This Response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim for refugee protection.
