In Pakistan, officials say at least eight people have been killed in a suicide vehicle bomb attack targeting the home of a senior police official in Pakistan's biggest city of Karachi.
Six police officers are among those reported to have been killed in the blast on September 19.
Senior police official Chaudry Aslam, head of the counterterrorism unit of the Police Crime Investigation Department in Karachi, survived the attack on his home.
Aslam, whose unit is involved in cracking down on Islamic militants, appeared on local television after the explosion and blamed the Pakistani Taliban for the attack.
