Kyrgyz, Armenians among casualties in Moscow explosion

MOSCOW – A Kyrgyz woman was among those killed in an explosion at a Moscow restaurant where many labor migrants were eating, RFE/RL's Kyrgyz Service reports.
The explosion on January 9 killed at least three people and injured 39 others, including seven other Kyrgyz nationals and five Armenians.
All three fatalities were restaurant employees, according to a spokeswoman for the Kyrgyz Embassy in Moscow.
Local authorities said it appeared the blast in southwestern Moscow occurred when a gas tank exploded.
Ayimkan Kulukeeva, a spokeswoman at the Kyrgyz Embassy in Moscow, told RFE/RL that one of the victims killed by the explosion was 24-year-old Kyrgyz woman Tolgonai Satybaldieva.
Kulukeeva said a special working group was established at the Kyrgyz Embassy to indentify all Kyrgyz citizens affected by the blast.
Leonid Pechatnikov, the chief of Moscow's Health Department, told journalists on January 10 that 28 people injured in the blast were still hospitalized.
