This is an unofficial translation of the consolidated version. The original Law, No. 1017-XII dated 20 December 1991, was amended by the Decree of the President RK of 03.10.95 and the Law RK No. 322-II of 17.05.02. According to the Regulations of the Supreme Council as of 20 December 1991 On the Consummation of the Law on Citizenship fo the Republic of Kazakshtan, "the Law shall enter into force starting from 1 of March 1992". Amendments were made in 1995 and 2002.
