The Commission's mission is to lead the promotion and protection of human rights in Australia by: (1) making human rights values part of everyday life and language; (2) empowering all people to understand and exercise their human rights; (3) working with individuals, community, business and government to inspire action; (4) keeping government accountable to national and international human rights standards; and (5) securing an Australian charter of rights.
