Australia: Refugee Review Tribunal

The Refugee Review Tribunal is a statutory body which provides a final, independent, merits review of decisions made by the Minister for Immigration and Citizenship or, in practice, by officers of the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC), acting as delegates of the Minister, to refuse to grant protection visas to non-citizens within Australia, or to cancel protection visas held by non-citizens in Australia. The Tribunal was established in 1993 under Part 7 of the Act and replaced the Refugee Status Review Committee (RSRC). Website: www.mrt-rrt.gov.au/
