The government respects freedom of the press and guarantees the right of reply in cases of slander. The country supports more than 200 newspapers. Although most are in private hands, some have connections to political parties or their affiliates. With the exception of two public service channels, all radio and television broadcasters are privately operated. Internet access is open and unrestricted. Per capita Internet use is among the highest in the world.
