Information in addition to that provided by the United States Department of State (DOS) Visa Reciprocity and Country Documents Finder site for Armenia was not found by the Research Directorate. In that document, dated 10 Dec. 2001, the Department of State differentiated between the internal residence document, "internal passport," and the four types of passports for external travel (10 Dec. 2001). A representative of the Consular Affairs Division of Embassy of the Republic of Armenia was unable to provide additional information (28 June 2002).

This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the Research Directorate within time constraints. This Response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum. Please find below the list of additional sources consulted in researching this Information Request.
