Belarus: Update to Response to Information Request BYS18478.E of 22 September 1994 on the treatment of Jews

For information on the situation of Jews in Belarus and on anti-Semitic actions and the state response to these actions, please consult the May 1997 Union of Councils for Soviet Jews (UCSJ) attachment. Additional or corroborative information on the treatment of Jews in Belarus could not be found among the sources consulted by the Research Directorate.

This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the Research Directorate within time constraints. This Response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum.
