Brazil: Information on the Brazilian Democratic Movement Party (PMDB, Partido Movimento Democratico Brasileiro) and its leader Henrique Santilio elected in 1985; on the Federal Liberal Party (PFL, Partido Liberal Federal) and its youth section; and on whether there were tensions between the PFL and the PMBD in 1985 and 1986

Information on the Federal Liberal Party (Partido Liberal Federal) could not be found among the sources consulted by the DIRB. However, the Liberal Front Party (Partido da Frente Liberal) is commonly known by the acronym PFL.

Information on the youth section of the PFL and Henrique Santilio could not be found among the sources consulted by the DIRB.

Attached please find general information on the Brazilian Democratic Movement Party (PMDB, Partido do Movimento Democrático Brasileiro) and the PFL, as well as information on the activities of the two parties from 1985 to 1986.

This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the DIRB within time constraints.
