Germany: Information on whether a woman who marries a German citizen acquires residence rights

 

Information on the above-mentioned subject could not be found among the sources consulted by the DIRB. However, for possibly related information on the residence status in Germany of a Serbian man who marries a woman who is a citizen of the Federal Republic of Germany, please consult Response to Information Request DEU19573.E of 24 January 1995. The DIRB does not have information on whether the residence rights of foreign men who marry women who are German citizens are different from those of foreign women who marry men who are German citizens.
