Estonia: Information on whether Estonian nationalist groups are being harassed by Russian-speaking former military personnel in Tallinn by Estonian nationalist groups

A number of sources indicate that they are unaware of any reports of Estonian nationalist groups harassing or committing violent incidents against Russian-speaking military personnel (Professor of political science 30 Aug. 1994; Ministry of Foreign Affairs 28 Aug. 1994; Joint Baltic American National Committee 25 Aug. 1994).

For information on radical groups advocating the "decolonization" of Estonia or the expulsion of Russian military retirees, please consult the attached Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) and Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe (CSCE) documents.

This response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the DIRB within time constraints. This response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum.
