According to the Consul-General for the Republic of Estonia in Toronto, residents of Estonia have a residence permit [propiska] stamped into their internal passports (29 Mar. 1993). The Consul-General could not provide information on whether a residence permit is currently necessary to obtain employment and/or housing (Ibid.).
Please consult the attached articles for information related to residence permits for non-citizens who are residing in Estonia.
Additional and/or corroborating information on this topic is not currently available to the DIRB.
