The Act was adopted by Parliament on 25 June 2007, promulgated in the Official Gazette on 29 June 2007, and entered into force on 1 January 2008. save for Section 94 which entered into force on 2 July 2007. The Act repealed Act CXXXIX of 1997 on Asylum. Simultaneously with the entry into force of the Act, Section 93 of Act I of 2007 on the Entry and Stay of Persons with the Rights of Free Movement and Stay; and Section 113 of Act II of 2007 on the Entry and Stay of Third Country Nationals, ceased to have effect. |
