Intelligence officials and residents say suspected U.S. drones have fired missiles in Pakistan's South Waziristan, killing at least 15 people.
Two missiles were fired at a car near the town of Wana, reportedly killing at least four people.
Shortly afterward, two missiles hit a compound in Wana belonging to Mullah Nazir's group – one of the most influential Pakistani militant groups involved in fighting U.S.-led forces across the border in Afghanistan.
That strike reportedly killed at least six people.
Later, officials said missiles hit a vehicle in North Waziristan, killing five suspected militants.
The United States has stepped up attacks on militant targets in the tribal region along the Afghan border for more than a year.
Some reports suggest the death toll could be higher.
