Sri Lanka: Information since February 1995 on the repatriation of refugees from India in February 1995, specifically on whether the Indian government or aid agencies prepared lists of those people repatriated to Sri Lanka and whether the list of those repatriated in February 1995 would be available; on whether those repatriated were provided with travel documents and if so, on the type of document provided and what was done with them once the people arrived in Sri Lanka and on whether those repatriated received identity documents from the government

Information on these specific topics could not be found among the sources consulted by the DIRB.

The attachments may provide general information on the repatriation of these Sri Lankans.

This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the DIRB within time constraints. This Response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum.
