The flow of people to neighbouring states and individual governorates is becoming too great a burden. Displaced in Uganda: replacing despair with hope
In northern Uganda, a tentative peace has given people enough hope to move out of massive camps for the displaced. For more than a decade, the Lord's Resistance Army attacked targets in the north and abducted children to help fight its battles. Good Sports: Somali Refugee Girls
Cultural and religious restrictions have long held back Somali refugee girls from realising their potential. Now in the Dadaab refugee settlements in north-eastern Kenya, the "Together for Girls" campaign is making significant gains in promoting the right of girls to play sports. Uganda: The Long Wait
For more than a decade, nearly 2 million people have been confined to camps in areas of northern Uganda where the rebel Lord's Resistance Army operates.
