Sixteen-year-old Samba answers a question during a maths class in a Bamako school. He left the Timbuktu area in July with his brother, sister and an uncle, while his parents stayed behind. Most schools have been closed or destroyed in the north. The school where Samba studies has 525 children, including 29 who were forcibly displaced, mainly from the Timbuktu and Gao regions.
