Abrantie (Oheneba Nana Yaw Boamah)

About Abrantie

Abrantie has been a High-Level Influencer for UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency's LuQuLuQu Tribe since 2017.

Abrantie is a Ghanaian fashion designer, and creative director of bespoke Ghanaian fashion brand Abrantie the Gentleman.

In 2020, Abrantie recorded a video tutorial showing how to make simple facemasks as per the CDC guidelines for a LuQuLuQu tribe initiative, dubbed '#Masks4Refugees'. The video tutorial serves as a way to engage refugees with making cloth face masks to protect them against the spread of the coronavirus.

During World Refugee Week in 2019, Abrantie chose to spend time with families forced to flee in Egyeikrom refugee camp, and  was inspired to continue working with UNHCR towards effecting real change in the perceptions around families forced to flee across Africa.

Abrantie continues to support the LuQuLuQu initiatives, including the LuQuLuQu online shop, and believes that “you may not be able to take a refugee for a shopping trip, but when you shop with LuQuLuQu in mind, you can give a refugee what they need from miles away.”
