She lives with her husband Mahmoud, his elderly parents and their children in an informal settlement in north Lebanon. ; Lebanon, with a total population of less than 6 million, currently hosts over 1 million Syrian refugees. An estimated 71 per cent of the refugee population in Lebanon are living below the poverty line of $3.8 per day, and 90 per cent are in debt. UNHCR\u2019s Multipurpose Cash Assistance Programme (MCAP) provides $175 per month to the most vulnerable families to help them meet their basic needs. Without further funding, as of August 2017, UNHCR will not be able to continue supporting 30,000 families with monthly cash assistance.
