Considering complementary pathways opportunities when planning economic inclusion activities and advocacy lines would further support refugees in attaining such opportunities independently. A diverse range of actors is needed to contribute distinct areas of expertise to make education pathways effective and scalable. In many countries around the world, refugee talent can help to address labour market shortages. Essential to this process is securing the support of employers who are keen to recruit and employ appropriately skilled refugees. Strengthening political support and supporting governments to launch and implement labour mobility programmes remains a priority.<\/p>\n<p>UNHCR is a member of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/immigration-refugees-citizenship\/corporate\/mandate\/corporate-initiatives\/global-task-force-refugee-labour-mobility.html\">Global Task Force on Refugee Labour Mobility<\/a>, which works to expand labour mobility pathways globally by engaging private sector, States and non-State actors engaged in global migration and works closely with the members of other fora to ensure that opportunities are nurtured.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fb_built=&#8221;1&#8243; Developing bridges between education and employment pathways is therefore an important step towards realising solutions and refugee self-reliance to the scale that the GCR and the Roadmap envisage. UNHCR encourages program partners to create and pilot study opportunities in third countries that are commensurate with labour market needs, and then provide students with post-graduate pathways into specific sectors while providing legal protections and continuity of legal stay. This means -&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:list -->\n<ul><!-- wp:list-item -->\n<li>Creating avenues for graduating students to progress into specific career fields, and pilot hybrid education and employment programmes in receiving countries which enable permanent solutions from the outset.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<!-- \/wp:list-item -->\n\n<!-- wp:list-item -->\n<li>Refugee students need intensive one-on-one support and professional development, involving linkages to job prospects after graduation, internships, relationships with employers, professional mentorship, and sustained financial support. Including these features in program design bolsters individuals\u2019 chances of securing post-graduate employment.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<!-- \/wp:list-item -->\n\n<!-- wp:list-item -->\n<li>Collaborating with education and economic initiatives for refugees in host countries, to ensure a holistic approach on third country solutions and to help prepare and facilitate refugees access to third country education and employment opportunities.
