A freezing winter threatens thousands of families. We are in a race against time.

The UN Refugee Agency urgently needs your help to reach thousands of Syrians in desperate need of support this winter. Over three quarters of these are women and children.

Find out more about the plight of Syrian refugees.

Fleeing for their lives from violence in their country, many Syrians left their homes with nothing but the clothes on their backs. With the freezing winter months now upon us the need for winter protection is acute.

UNHCR is providing vital winter relief items such as warm clothes, prefabricated shelters, thermal blankets and stoves to cook hot food. These emergency packages will help families meet basic needs during the coming winter.

‘Winter can be harsh here, even dangerous for refugees who may already be weakened by their ordeal. Many have been brutalised in unimaginable ways. They deserve all the support we can give them'

Angelina Jolie, UNHCR Special Envoy
Speaking during a recent visit to Za'atri refugee camp, Jordan

We urgently need your help to reach out to thousands of Syrians suffering in the bitter cold, winter will not wait.
