The Population, Immigration, and Border Authority (PIBA) was established to increase coordination between various government units that deal with the regulation of the legal status of citizens, residents, and foreigners and enforce laws regarding the residence and employment of foreigners.

The agency publishes quarterly and annual reports on figures related to the number of foreigners in Israel, including asylum seekers.

PIBA Statistics on Foreigners in Israel

Earlier statistical reports and other PIBA publications are available on the PIBA database.

Note: English translations of PIBA reports are done by UNHCR  and correspond only to specific pages in the original reports. English translations reflect the exact terminology used by PIBA to refer to asylum seekers, notably the use of “infiltrator/s”. 2019 marks the first year that PIBA introduced the term “asylum seekers” to their Annual Summary Reports of Statistics of Foreigners in Israel.
