Agnes is from Tanzania and has extensive field experience in SGBV prevention and\u00a0response. She is an avid promoter of women\u2019s rights, addressing child marriage and\u00a0the importance of education to young mothers and girls.<\/p>\n
The project aims at creating a welcoming secondary school learning environment for young\u00a0mothers and girls from vulnerable families. In order to accommodate and retain the targeted students, its objectives are:<\/p>\n
\u2022 Build and furnish two classrooms and two dormitories;
\n\u2022 Build three drop holes and three bathrooms;
\n\u2022 Build a study room, a kitchen and a store;
\n\u2022 Build a rainwater harvesting tank and implementing a solar power system;
\n\u2022 Support students to enable them to continue their education.<\/p>\n
The project also supports self-reliance activities, such as poultry and pig farming, as a way of\u00a0increasing their food supply and spurring economic development. The community is\u00a0encouraged to support the students by supplying them with food and providing incentives to\u00a0the teachers. Although the project\u2019s main targets are young mothers and girls, boys from\u00a0vulnerable families will also be granted permission to attend classes as day students.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
