18 February 2017

UNHCR Iran

Acting Representative, Ms. Irina Korenyak inaugurating the school.

The official inauguration ceremony of Shahid Majid Boshkouh High School for boys in Bushehr province took place on 4 February 2018. Located in a high refugee populated area, the school is the result of partnership between the Ministry of Education, the Bureau for Aliens and Foreign Immigrants Affairs (BAFIA) of the Ministry of Interior and UNHCR – through the kind contributions of the Governments of France, Germany, Japan, Republic of Korea, Norway, Russian Federation, as well as the European Union (DEVCO) and the Educate A Child programme.

UNHCR together with embassy representatives of three of the donor countries; namely France, Norway and Republic of Korea participated in the inauguration ceremony and  were witness to foreign national children studying side by side Iranian students and enjoying the same educational facilities . Thanks to these combined efforts, more children will now be able to attend school and help build a brighter future for themselves and their families.
