UNHCR oraganized field visit to refugee projects in Khorasan Razavi province

13 July 2017

UNHCR/Behnam Moharrek

Diplomatic Missions and International Organizations visiting different projects in Khorasan Razavi.

UNHCR organized a visit to refugee related projects in Khorasan Razavi province for Diplomatic Missions and International Organizations of Tehran from 10-12 July 2017.

The mission showcased the services that the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran has been providing to refugees for over 30 years, and how the support of the international community has materialized into tangible and meaningful humanitarian assistance. During the visit participants were able to note Khorasan Razavi’s high quality living conditions for refugees, and also had the opportunity to interact with refugees themselves and learn about existing needs.

UNHCR organizes these visits twice a year on a regular baisis , each time to a different province with a refugee population to show examples of the services rendered to refugees and enable the participants to gain a better understanding of Government of Iran and UNHCR joint activities namely in the main areas of health, education, and livelihoods. The large participation number as well as the high level of engagement during the mission reflected the delegation’s interest in refugee-related issues.
