Announcement of the Defense Ordinance number 2 for the year 2020, declared by the Government of Jordan, Friday 20 March, due to the emergency condition and to prevent the spread of epidemics

With the announcement of the Defense Ordinance number 2 for the year 2020, declared by the Government of Jordan today, Friday 20 March, and due to the emergency condition and to prevent the spread of epidemics, please note that, as of tomorrow, Saturday 21 March 2020, 7AM, and until further notice:

  • It is prohibited to move and roam in all regions and cities of the Kingdom;

  • All shops and stores will be closed

Anyone who violates the provisions of this defense order shall be subject to imprisonment for a period not exceeding one year.

On Tuesday 24 March, the Government will announce the specific times and mechanisms during which citizens and residents (including refugees) in the Kingdom may leave their homes.
