This is a three-month position with the possibility of extension, ideally between 1 June and 31 August 2021. The internship will begin remotely with the possibility of relocation to the office in Malta should circumstances related to COVID-19 allow.
The intern will support research on a wide range of subjects related to refugee protection and asylum policy and practice in the European Union. S/he will review and analyse relevant publications on asylum in the EU, provide statistical analysis of refugee and migration trends in Europe, assist in the preparation of UNHCR meetings and events, and attend conferences and meetings on topics of relevance to the Liaison Office as necessary.
The candidate must be a recent graduate (completed studies within one year) or current student in a graduate school programme, in a field relevant to the work of the Liaison Office (law, international, relations, political science, public policy, etc.) S/he must have a full command of English and possess excellent research, analytical, judgement, drafting, and organizational skills.
