Estonian Contributions to UNHCR
Estonia is a reliable donor to UNHCR and has provided donations since 2008. In recent years, Estonia has significantly increased its unearmarked funding, helping UNHCR reach refugees across the globe. Estonia’s allocations to UNHCR also have been earmarked for many of the world’s most conflict ridden countries and the most desperate humanitarian situations, including Myanmar, Syria, and Ukraine.

Estonian donation helps the most vulnerable internally displaced people in Ukraine get humanitarian assistance
Ukraine has one of the largest populations of internally displaced people in the world but the crisis remains chronically underfunded. A USD 218,000 contribution from Estonia will support UNHCR’s humanitarian work in the country.
More than ever, UNHCR relies on generous donors like the Government of Estonia to provide life-saving help and protection to a record-high number of people forced to flee their homes.
In 2017, with funding from the Government of Estonia, UNHCR helped the most vulnerable people forced to leave their homes globally.
