Observations from UNHCR on Lithuanian law proposal on integration policy
UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, has submitted our observations to the Lithuanian government’s draft integration policy for foreigners granted asylum in the country.
UNHCR welcomes the effort to outline a comprehensive approach to integration for persons granted asylum in Lithuania. The proposed policy contains a number of commendable elements such as the objective to draw up individual integration plans and the recognition of the importance of starting integration-related activities as early as possible.
In addition to welcoming such positive aspects, UNHCR would like to offer recommendations to consolidate and further develop certain aspects of the strategy.
The observations are available here.
